The Newnan Cougar Football Team (2-1) is preparing to take on the South Cobb Eagles (1-2) this Friday at 7:30 in Austell.
Coming off a disappointing 34-0 loss to the Sandy Creek Patriots, Newnan looks to quickly recover and get another “W” in the win column against the Eagles.
South Cobb will also be looking for a victory as they are recovering from a 30-12 loss at the hands of Marietta High School, so both teams will be anxious to avenge their recent performances.
Newnan’s football season got off to a hot start with wins against Carrolton and Marietta at Drake Stadium, but the team lost momentum once they ventured away from Coweta County.
As for South Cobb, they have had an up-and-down year with a loss to Creekside High School followed by a win against Pope High School the next week with their most recent game ending in defeat against Marietta.
All in all, both schools are searching for bounce-back performances, and a win would help each team’s season get back on track.
