Addie Andrews pitched one of her best games on September 22, helping the lady Cougars with a 12-0 victory over Douglas County Tigers. She struck out five batters and only gave up one hit. As well as letting no runs score.

Being the only pitcher on varsity, it puts much more pressure on Andrews. Having up lifting teammates helps her to do better when she gets down.

The Cougars will be playing in the region tournament throughout the week and looking to bring home bragging rights and home-field advantage.

On September 28, the ladies played for their seniors, since it was senior night. Andrews pitched an even better game, striking out seven and pitching a no hitter against Campbell High. Out of 38 pitches, 33 of them were strikes.

Offensively, that night, the Cougars did great, run ruling Campbell in the 5th inning. Hannah Scarbrough was three for three. Lesley Davis had two home runs. Sarah Vallery and Danielle Curlee each had a hit.

The lady Cougars play this week in their region tournament. If they place in the top four out of their region, they’ll go to the first round of playoffs. Newnan hopes to keep playing like they have been.
