Hello to a New School Year and New Writers!

The Prowl and Growl would like to officially welcome back all students, parents, and all members of Cougar Nation to a new school year!

With an enthusiastic group of new journalism students shaking off the last sleepy morning of summer, The Prowl and Growl will return this September with student written news and articles showcasing the accomplishments and achievements of Newnan High School!

A we all know, however, a new beginning signals the close of something else, and for an exceptional class of journalism students last year, the end of the school year saw The Prowl and Growl‘s first class of journalists head to universities and colleges across the nation, including the University of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Some of those graduating seniors will be going on to further their studies of journalism at the next level. After interning this summer at The Newnan Times-Herald, Paul Slobodzian will be attending Arizona State University. Madeline Schindler will be attending Young Harris College. Andy Callaway will be attending the University of Tennessee. Meg Oldham will be attending Mercer University. Natalie Gaines will be attending Georgia State University.

Prowl and Growl writers Seth Rainey and Thomas Touchstone, both NHS seniors, are already interning as sports writers at the NTH, and you will see their bylines as soon as in tomorrow’s Sunday paper!

Stay tuned this month for new articles and new content coming soon both online and in print! And please be sure to read a copy of The Prowl and Growl‘s first edition of the 2016-17 school year in the The Newnan Times-Herald‘s Education Section this September!
