On Thursday, October 20, a national hero, Will Jimeno, will come to Newnan High School and speak about his experiences on September 11, 2001.
NHS History Club will host Jimeno in the NHS Auditorium at 6:30 PM. At the event, he will share his experiences as a police officer and first responder who was trapped in the rubble after the towers fell. The public is invited to attend Jimeno’s talk in the auditorium at 6:30 PM.
Jimeno was buried under the rubble of the building for thirteen hours and will be sharing his story with the audience, bringing his perspective to the event that changed the lives of all Americans on that day.
Before Jimeno speaks, NHS History Club will screen the 2006 film “World Trade Center,” focusing on the real life experiences of heroes and their sacrifices on September 11. After the film and before Jimeno speaks at the main event, the History Club will also host a breakfast-dinner for History Club members and first responders to celebrate their daily heroism and commitment to service.
